About Us
Joe Metzger is a professional child-proofer & expert craftsman. He is the point person for all Safer Babies consults & installations. Joe is the only International Association for Child Safety (IAFCS) member in the Philadelphia Metro Area & has over 35,000 hours of childproofing installation experience. He has all the solutions! Jenn Metzger founded Safer Babies in 1999 after reading about babyproofing businesses in NYC. She saw the void in the Philly market, and knew she and Joe had the drive & skillsets to make it work. Over the years she has been the Safer Babies community educator, as well as a Child Passenger Safety Technician. She has taught our classes: Baby Proofing 101, Car Seat Safety 101, and Home & Car Seat Safety, and currently is working to make them accessible soon online. She also works outside of Safer Babies as a small business coach and as the Recreation Coordinator for Media Borough.
Together, Joe and Jenn have been building Safer Babies since 1999. One of their favorite professional milestones so far has been winning "Best of Philly". Another is winning a hat-trick of local Best Babyproofer LOVE Awards.
A favorite personal milestone for them has been seeing their 3 children graduate from local colleges (Haverford & Villanova). All 3 kids were under 4 years old when Safer Babies began! The saying "The days are long but the years are short" has never felt more true!
